Gardening Club
The BR gardening club is open to pupils in years 4,5 and 6. The club is free to join and runs every Thursday lunchtime (weather permitting). Come and enjoy planting bulbs, shrubs and plants - cultivate seeds - plant hanging baskets - learn about different plants - learn how to prune and weed. Last year BRGC planted up spring flowering bulbs in the courtyard, front playground and tubs (which can be found in many areas of the school).
During the spring of 2009 we will be cultivating seeds for broad beans, potatoes, french beans, tomatoes and marrows. All pupil members of the gardening club will be able to take home produce they have grown. If any children are interested in joining the BR gardening club, please let Mr Smith know.
If any parents have any spare bulbs, seeds or unused gardening equipment we would be grateful for anything you are kind enough to donate (items such as: kneeling pads, pots, trowels, rakes and spades).
Thank you to all those who collected 'Let's Grow' vouchers we are expecting a collection of goodies to be delivered in the next few weeks. We are also grateful to the PTA Friends of BR who have made donations to the gardening club which has enabled us to buy tubs, shrubs, plants etc. Thank you.
